The Viennese Last Judgement meets contemporary theatre
From November 2017 on, the Gemäldegalerie of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna will show its highlights in the Theatre Museum, since the Academy building is being restorated for three years. This gives an unique opportunity to present in this new location a stage production devoted to the core piece of the Gemäldegalerie, Hieronymus Bosch’s (c. 1450/55 – 1516) triptych of The Last Judgment (c. 1500). The internationally active author and director Jérôme Junod has adapted and staged his play Hieronymus Bosch, premiered in Salzburg in 2016. The „play inspired from the picture“ will be shown from November 2017 until February 2018 in the Eroica Hall of the Lobkowitz Palace, as a coproduction with the Theatre Museum and the intercreative label Salon5.
There has never been such a crossover production in Austria before.
In german language with english subtitles.
